Diamond Creek 2009

Diamond Creek was a little rainy and muddy this year. We all had a great time considering the weather. We have a family tradition to hike up to a big pine tree at the top of the mountain and we bury a little time capsule at the base of it. Each year we take something up and replace what we put in the year before that represents us. The kids look forward to this every year!

-Sammy couldn't get enough of being outside no matter what the weather was.
-Cam couldn't ride the motorcycle enough.

-Alex and Ryan visited their hut and played Killer Bunnies every chance they got

-Tanner was playing whatever game was being played on the field (ultimate frisbee, football, or hook-on)

-Ashton tried to get into everu mud puddle he could without being caught
-Mom and Dad, well, we are just looking forward to next Diamond Creek! It is the highlight of our year.

The Corner

Sammy watches her big brothers and sisters very closely. She has started to scream when she doesn't get her way. The other day she screamed and hit me and I set her down and told her to go to the corner...and she went! She knew exactly what to do. Korey and I were laughing so hard because not only did she put herself in the corner, but she was playing with her feet and hands just like the big kid do! Not only did she do all of that, but she also stayed in the corner (peeking over her shoulder a time or two to see if we were watching) until I told her she could come out.

A day at the Park

We had a picnic at the park with Aunt Stacey, Aunt Sarah, and Aunt Jenny and all the cousins! What a blast! Aunt Sarah and Uncle Travis were in town from Maryland. We always love to see them.

The Post

Ah, just look at the joy on Tanner's face! This was Tanner's first time out at The Post. Our dear sweet children have learned that if they so feel the desire to waste time and argue with their siblings they get to visit The Post. They can take out all their anger and frustration on The Post as they build up to the footage that has been assigned to them. When they finally reach their mark they get to smooth it out for the next lucky visitor. Because we live on a sand hill this task isn't quite as easy as it looks...just ask the kids!

Alexis' Science Fair

Alexis had her science fair yesterday at school. She chose to see if the most expensive popcorn really was the best! Sure enough, it was. Ask her how much popcorn she ate?! She had a great time getting it ready...with a little help from Sammy!

Ashton's Birthday

We celebrated Ashton's 6th birthday yesterday. He had such a fun time playing with all of his cousins, opening presents, and eating "white birthday cake with green frosting." I think the kid is part Hulk! He also shared the in the festivities with his Grandpa Owens, who turned...well we won't mention any ages here.

Samantha's 1st Birthday!

Samantha had so much fun with her birthday cake! She thought the frosting was the best part. She went to town on her cake and when she had enough I asked her if she was all done. Oh, how forgetful we are at times. When she is all done instead of putting her hands in the air she puts her hands on her ears! As you can see, that was a messy mistake.
As for the presents...who needs them when you have tissue paper!
